PATRICIA CHICA
Award-winning Director, Writer, Filmmaker
Patricia Chica is an award-winning Canadian filmmaker known for her bold, visually striking, and emotionally resonant storytelling. With over 20 years in the industry, her work has earned 60+ awards and screened at major festivals worldwide.
A specialist in character-driven narratives, Patricia is trusted for her ability to draw powerful performances from actors while crafting compelling, high-quality content. She has directed and/or produced for networks like National Geographic, MTV, CBC, CBS, and El Rey Network.
Recognized as a "Rising Female Filmmaker" by Dread Central and praised by Variety as “a prolific director,” Patricia is an alumna of the TIFF Filmmaker Lab, Netflix-BANFF Diversity of Voices, and The Gotham. She has received support from leading arts organizations, including Telefilm Canada and the National Film Board.
Born in El Salvador and raised in Montreal, Patricia has worked internationally and is fluent in English, Spanish, and French. She is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, the Canada Media Producers Association, Film Fatales and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. Currently, she divides her time between Montreal and Los Angeles.
OTHER WORK:
Patricia Chica helps other filmmakers get their films made as a producer and results strategist, and also works as a mentor, high performance educator, and acting coach.
She is the president of Flirt Films Inc. and ChicArt Productions.
